The Drop Shot Rig is a finesse technique that's designed to allow you to effectively fish soft plastics in deeper water while maintaining a lifelike free-floating presentation! To set up a Drop Shot Rig, start by choosing your favorite finesse soft plastic worm or minnow. Next, rig the bait on the appropriately sized drop shot hook. Then, tie the hook on your line with a Palomar knot while leaving a 1'-2' tag end. Once tied, thread the tag end through the top of the drop shot hook eye so the hook sits on the line straight and upright. Lastly, attach the appropriately sized drop shot weight on the bottom.
